Classes for Ages 8+

In our classes for ages 8+, we strive to support students' in developing artistic skill, voice, and individual creativity.

Tinkerers Club:

Printing, Painting, Sewing & More!

  • $200 + $18 materials fee

Join other artists to Tinker with a variety of materials in an open-ended format during Tinkerers Club! This creative-process based class will be the perfect fit for the artist who enjoys independence and implementing their own ideas within the supportive environment of the studio. Working with paint, printmaking, sewing, and more, students will be encouraged to use the materials in their own way after a brief mini-lesson--fostering plenty of creativity, choice, and expression. 

Note: This class is appropriate for children to take for the first time, or to continue on from previous sessions. We'll be making all new projects this session!

Realistic Drawing:

Animals & Habitats

Join us as we explore the exciting world of learning to draw animals realistically! Using media such as pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, and chalk pastels, students will learn techniques, tips and tricks for realistically rendering animals and their habitats (both natural and imaginative!). Building upon various art works, this class will culminate in an independent project of each student's choosing.

Note: This class is appropriate for children to take for the first time, or to continue on from previous sessions. We'll be making all new projects this session!

Art Techniques:

Acrylics & Watercolor

Take your painting skills to the next level with Art Techniques: Acrylics & Watercolors. Working on both canvas and high quality watercolor paper as well as other interesting media such as Yupo paper, this class will support and encourage each student's individual process while advancing their skills among a community of artists. Learn acrylic techniques such as color mixing, layering, and working with gel mediums, as well as watercolor techniques including washes, dry brush, and creating texture with reactions using alcohol, salt, and more. Class culminates in an independent piece of each student's choice.

Please note: This class is appropriate for students to take for the first time, or for students to continue on from a previous session. Each session, students will explore new topics in Art Techniques -- supporting students to build an excellent foundation.

Cancellation Policy: 

  • A minimum of 3 students must be enrolled in order for class to be held. We will notify you if your class might not run due to low enrollment.
  • Payment is due in full at time of registration. The Materials Fee is a non-refundable deposit. In the event of a cancellation, tuition will be refunded up to 10 days prior to the start of class. Within 10 days of the class start date, class tuition is non-refundable.
