Adult Painting & Drawing Classes

Our Fall Session 1 classes begin the week of August 21st, and meet once weekly for nine weeks. New to art or re-discovering it? Tinker provides a welcoming and supportive studio environment.


Intro to Acrylics

  • Wednesdays
  • Aug. 23rd - Oct. 18th
  • 6:30 - 8:30pm
  • $225 + $25 materials fee

Come enjoy Tinker’s artistic environment with a balance of art making and community to build your painting skills. This 9-week course will be laid out through step by step guidance to ensure all students will be able to understand and progress into their own unique process and creativity. Learn basic skills and techniques while painting a landscape, still-life, and a nature inspired composition. Then focus on a topic of your choice for a final canvas painting. Class begins at 6:30 and has a soft finish between 8:30 and 8:45.

Open Access for Painters & Potters

  • $110 + materials fee: For Painters: $15 materials fee // For Potters: $25 materials fee (See below for materials fee details.)

Join us for Open Access: Painters & Potters, a fun studio session for artists of all levels. During this 9-week Open Access session, you have complete access to the studio and materials. Bring your own ideas for projects and a desire to create while you enjoy the community of other painters and potters.

Registration for Open Access includes all Wednesday evening Open Access hours--come and go as you wish! This is an excellent opportunity to continue your artistic practice in a supportive and casual environment. Please note that Open Access does not include any instruction or instructor time. You should be a proficient working independently as a painter or as a pottery in order to register for Open Access.

Required prerequisite for Open Access Potters:

In order to enroll in Open Access: Potters you must have previously completed a pottery class at Tinker Art Studio. 


Open Access for Painters--the materials fee includes use of our paints (acrylics) as well as other non-consumables such as brushes. It does not include canvas or other materials. If you'd like to purchase a canvas (16"x20" or 12"x16") you may do so at the studio, or you may bring your own.

Open Access for Potters--the materials fee includes one 25-lb bag of clay, glaze, and firing fees.


Cancellation Policy:

  • A minimum of 3 students must be enrolled in order for class to be held. We will notify you if your class might not run due to low enrollment.
  • Payment is due in full at time of registration. The Materials Fee is a non-refundable deposit. In the event of a cancellation, tuition will be refunded up to 7 days prior to the start of class. Within 7 days of the class start date, class tuition is non-refundable.
