Join award winning Plein air artist, Jeanne Hougen, for a two day Plein air workshop in August.
In this workshop you will experience the fun of painting out of doors, or en Plein air as the French say. We will meet on the first day the Marshal Mesa parking lot and walk to a location, where you will watch a Plein air demonstration, and then be able to experience painting Plein air yourself. You will learn how to choose a subject matter to paint, how to quickly compose, and then execute a painting from start to finish all while on location. On the second day we will meet at Walden ponds, where you will have the opportunity to paint once again with one on one help from Jeanne, followed up by a group critique at the end of the session.
These workshops are recommended for intermediate artists who have some experience painting in acrylics or oils. Materials are not included and will need to be supplied by each student. Classes will run rain or shine (or wind!). Please make sure that you are appropriately dressed and prepared for a variety of weather conditions. Itinerary and suggested materials list will be sent closer to the workshop.
A minimum of 4 students must be enrolled in order for workshop to be held. We will notify you if your class might not run due to low enrollment.
Payment is due in full at time of registration. For this workshop, there is a non-refundable deposit of $25. In the event of a cancellation, tuition will be refunded up to 10 days prior to the start of class minus the deposit. Within 10 days of the class start date, the full class tuition is non-refundable.
